Psychohistorical Journey #5
Poninka · Kyiv · Paris · Berlin · Knislinge · Reading
Sunday 25th January 2026 11am
This is a collective, performative walk that unfolds as a form of shared dreamwork. The journey began in Poninka, Ukraine, and across different cities we walk together, imaginatively and physically, in the direction of the Black Sea.
This is not a hike or a guided tour. It is a slow, attentive movement through the landscape, shaped by silence, observation, and simple collective actions.
Finding an object in the landscape that draws your attention. You will carry this object for the duration of the walk and treat it as a companion or a fragment of a dream. You may ask it a question and listen for responses as you walk.
Collective whispering exercise, where fragments of dreams travel through the group, changing slightly with each voice, revealing how meaning drifts, distorts, and returns.
Collective measuring action. Together, we will measure the edges and inclines of the landscape using a spirit level and a transparent six-metre hose filled with sea water. In this action, the distant sea is brought into the present terrain, allowing the land to be read through balance, pressure, and flow.
Falcon release. Darren will guide us in learning how to release his falcon, Antal. The bird will travel with us through the journey, passing from the hands of each participant before being released.
Pay attention to your dreams the night before the journey.
Arrive with openness, patience, and a willingness to move collectively.
A shared direction.
This walk takes place simultaneously with journeys in other cities. Though separated by geography, the groups move as one body, aligned in time and intention, collectively walking towards the sea.
